More About Me...
Monty is a lovely lad who has recently returned to our care due to a change in circimstances. His owners are absolutely devastated at the descision. Monty first came to us back in 2013 as a very scared, timid pup. He had not had the best starts in life and had no trust in people at all. He went straight into a foster home with other dogs where he gained some confidence. Monty is a very sensitive dog and can be very timid. He needs a calm home with a kind, patient owner who can give him lots of love and allow him to come out of his shell at his own pace. No children or cats! He is ok with dogs, but if he was to go to a home with another dog, they must also be calm, well balanced and confident. Monty is not a difficult dog to look after, he just needs someone who can be the leader and in return, he will be a very faithful companion. He is so loving and loves to play and run!
Adoption & Contact Info...

We are a small charity formed in June 2010, dedicated to the rescuing and rehoming of abandoned dogs in South Yorkshire.  Our aim is to save dogs from an uncertain future at the council pounds in Yorkshire and give them a 2nd chance of a happy life. We are run soley by volunteers so 100% of the money raised through fundraising events and also donations go directly to the dogs.

We rent 2 kennels from B.A.R.C - Barnsely Animal Rescue Charity and these are based on Station Road in Wath Upon Dearne. We also have a charity shop on Derwent Road, Athersley South, Barnsley. Our contact numbers are 07952 038274 / 07583 616911 / 07952 038245.

Anyone wanting to adopt a dog from us will have a home check. Once passed - the family simply fosters the dog for 2 weeks to ensure they are right for each other and there are no concerns. If after the 2 weeks the new owner is happy then the dog can be officially adopted. The adoption fee is £130 but the dog will be neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, have up to date flea and worming treatment and will also have 4 weeks free pet insurance. There is full support given throughout the lifetime of the dog. Many people who have adopted dogs from us have become friends.

We also hold a monthly social dog walk around Manvers Lake in Wath. It is held on the first sunday of every month and we often have a very good turn out. The dogs absolutely love it too. More details plus a map can be found on our website.
